Ufa “Salavat Yulaev” defeated “Severstal” on the road

In Cherepovets, the Ufa hockey players of Salavat Yulaev snatched victory from the local Severstal. Viktor Kozlov’s team won with a score of 4:3.

But less than three minutes later, Severstal equalized the score, and half a minute later they took the lead.
In the 33rd minute, Sasha Khmelevsky scored a double and equalized the score. In the third period, the hosts took the lead again. In the 52nd minute, Ufa player Kirill Pilipenko took advantage of the moment when the opponent was in the minority and equalized the score. Everything was heading towards overtime, but Nikita Zorkin scored the puck 23 seconds before the siren and brought his team victory – 4:3.
Commenting on the match, Salavat Yulaev head coach Viktor Kozlov called it difficult.
– The opponent created a lot of difficulties. A fast team, but we survived, well done guys,” he noted. – There were a lot of deletions, a lot of work in the minority.
The mentor admitted that Severstal was a young and fast team and it was not easy for the Ufa team.
– Many deletions that broke the rhythm of the game. The guys who play in the majority sat, those who play in the minority have a lot of work to do,” emphasized Viktor Kozlov. – Removal is not a problem. We had a four-day break, we were under a fast team, we had to make decisions quickly. Because of this, there were a lot of defects, which Severstal took advantage of.
Salavat Yulaev will play their next game on October 22, visiting Dynamo Minsk.
