In secondary schools and institutions of secondary education in the Rostov region, it is planned to introduce optional training in piloting unmanned aerial vehicles. This was announced by the chairman of the regional branch of DOSAAF of Russia Anatoly Trushin at a press conference on the specifics of the conscription of citizens for military service in the spring of 2023, held at the Interfax-South center.
According to Mr. Trushin, last year more than 50 drone operators were trained on the basis of the Southern School of DOSAAF.
“We trained more than 50 servicemen, mobilized, volunteers on a free basis at the request of the commanders of military units last spring and summer, but now we have approached this more widely, because the needs are very large,” Anatoly Trushin said.
Now they plan to start teaching schoolchildren and students of schools and colleges in a demanded specialty. Agreements on the conduct of such electives have been signed with 36 schools. Ten quadrocopters were purchased for these purposes. To obtain basic skills, students will need training for a month.
In the Rostov region valid a ban on the launch of drones, but as Anatoly Trushin explained, within the framework of classes, quadrocopters do not rise above a certain permitted height within the boundaries of territories specially designated for these purposes.
