U.S. senators have sent an inquiry about a transvestite who attracted recruits to the army

A group of U.S. Republican senators sent a request to the leadership of the U.S. Navy about a transvestite who was used to recruit young volunteers for the army.
As specified, Joshua Kelly, a master sergeant of the Navy, took part in the Digital Ambassador program. He performed in women’s costumes under the pseudonym “Harpy Daniels” and posted videos on the TikTok platform.
The senators, in a letter to Navy chief Carlos Del Toro, expressed concern about the promotion of the banned app and behavior that many consider inappropriate in the workplace. The letter, signed by 14 senators, including Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, notes that it is their responsibility to oversee and identify possible legislative action related to the Navy recruitment crisis and the Digital Ambassador program.
Senators also raised the question of where the line should be drawn in promoting the personal activities of Navy influencers. They asked if the Navy would use exotic dancers to attract the attention of potential recruits, noting that such activity is inconsistent with the goal of promoting the US military.
The letter also includes a request for information on the status of the Naval Pilot Program, the cost of federal funding for it, and the possibility of compensation or special incentives for program participants.
A Navy spokesperson previously said that Kelly and other Navy digital ambassadors were not paid for their work. He also said that the pilot project has been completed and the Navy is currently evaluating the program and its future prospects.
