Two third-year students of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University named after M.V. They want to expel Lomonosov for obscene statements in social networks against a classmate who staged a patriotic action at the faculty. The decision was made following the results of the meetings of the ethics commission, as well as the student affairs commission, but the expulsion documents have not yet been signed. This was told to Kommersant by a member of the student committee who was present at the meetings. “Kommersant” sent a request to the press service of the faculty, but no response has yet been received.

Stepan Antropov, against whom the students used foul language, came on September 23 wearing a T-shirt with a Z-symbol and waving the flag of the Luhansk People’s Republic on the university stairs. Eyewitnesses filmed his speech. In the evening, in a group chat, students began to discuss the act of Stepan Antropov. They were outraged that the young man expressed his political position within the walls of the faculty. The leadership of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University has repeatedly told students that it is unacceptable to do this at the faculty.

Correspondence soon appeared on the network. Screenshots of the correspondence were published by Russia Today, Readovka, and personal data of students began to appear in Telegram channels. After that, the girls and their parents began to receive anonymous threats, some girls were forced to change their place of residence.

Faculty Dean Elena Vartanova on her page “In contact with” stated that “the rejection of the patriotic position of Stepan Antropov is unacceptable.” “I categorically do not accept the tone and vocabulary that I saw on social networks in connection with this,” Ms. Vartanova wrote. As a result, seven students who spoke negatively in the chat about the act of their fellow student were summoned on September 27 to the ethics commission, as well as the commission on student affairs.

“The teachers spoke about the inadmissibility of the use of obscene language by university students. There was a lot of talk about the fact that the Faculty of Journalism has incurred incredible reputational risks, and the issue is being monitored at the highest level. They announced that the deputies of the State Duma, the Ministry of Education and the Prosecutor’s Office, ”said the interlocutor of Kommersant, who was present at the meetings. He claims that during the discussion “the discussion as such did not work out.” The girls tried to explain their messages and said that their course had long been in conflict with Stepan Antropov.

“There was a feeling that the decision had already been made, because 9 voted for expulsion and reprimands, 12 voted against. Vartanova said that she had the last word, some of the votes were deliberative, but she had already expressed her opinion and decided everything, ”a member of the student committee told Kommersant. As a result of the meeting, two students, in whose messages there was a curse, were expelled, five more were severely reprimanded.

On September 27, it was planned to hold the second meeting of the ethics and student commissions. It is connected with the conflict between two third-year students and student Mark Luzhkov, who stood up for Stepan Antropov. The third-year students decided that Mark Luzhkov, who works for Russia Today, passed on group correspondence to his colleagues. Near the faculty on Mokhovaya, three students came into conflict, but they were stopped by employees.

After that, as students told Kommersant, law enforcement officers came to the faculty (“Kommersant” saw a photo of employees in uniform). Due to this conflict, the meetings of the commissions were postponed to another day.
