Scientists have detected flares on the Sun that disrupted radio communications

Scientists have recorded two powerful X-class flares on the Sun. These phenomena led to disruptions in radio communications on Thursday, February 22. This was reported by the Heliogeophysical Service of the Institute of Applied Geophysics.

Thus, the night flash lasted 22 minutes, another one – the morning one – was accompanied by a disruption of HF radio communications.

It is clarified that after the flares, the level of influence of solar X-rays on the planet’s ionosphere was “three” out of “five,” which is a high level. Now the radiation has returned to normal.

Experts recalled that outbreaks are divided into five classes and when moving from one category to another, their power increases tenfold.
