Two people detained in Belarus after trying to launch a drone to Lithuania

Belarusian border guards stopped an attempt to violate the border with Lithuania using a drone, two men were detained, reported press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus.

According to the border committee, two Belarusian citizens were detained on the night of August 18 in Gorodishche, Voronovsky district, Grodno region. The men, as noted, were going to launch a drone across the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. During the arrest, in addition to the drone itself, components for it, as well as radio communications, were found, the report says.

According to the committee, the vehicle of the State Border Protection Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania drove into the territory of Belarus “at a distance of up to five meters.” After that, he turned around and drove back into the territory of Lithuania.
