The press service of the city of Moscow reports that two young men in Moscow were charged with stealing a thuja, which they mistook for a spruce and stole for subsequent installation in an apartment.
According to the capital’s prosecutor’s office, at night the attackers were walking along Budyonny Avenue and behind the fence on the organization’s territory they saw a tree that visually resembled a spruce, deciding to steal it and put it in their apartment. It is noted that they climbed over the fence, tore the tree out of the ground, after which they threw the trophy over the fence, dragged it to the house and brought it into the apartment.
The department clarified that the young people were identified by law enforcement officers, and the stolen thuja, the cost of which exceeded 5.7 thousand rubles, was found in the apartment of one of the attackers. The prosecutor’s office added that the 17-year-old and 18-year-old defendants were charged with theft.
