The Kirovsky District Court of Ufa arrested two more participants in the rally in Baymak in support of convicted activist Fail Alchinov (included in the list of terrorists and extremists), TASS reports, citing the court’s press service. Salavat Idelbaev and Salavat Yuldashev were arrested for 14 and 13 days under Art. 20.2 part 6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for organizing or holding a rally).

The court statement said that those arrested took part in an “unauthorized public event” in front of the Baymak court on January 15. This event, the court decision says, made it difficult to visit the courthouse, interfered with landscaping work, and impeded the movement of cars.

Today, January 18, six people were arrested for participating in a demonstration in Baymak. Yulay Aralbaev, Radmir Mukhametshin, Dmitry Petrov and Denis Skvortsov were sentenced to ten days, and Ilnar Galin – 13 days. The court found them guilty of participating in an unauthorized rally.

On January 15, the Baimaksky court was supposed to announce the verdict of activist Fail Alchinov (Alsynov) in the case of inciting hatred or enmity, humiliation of human dignity (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). On the same day, a rally was held near the courthouse, the participants of which demanded the release of the activist and the resignation of the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov. According to media estimates, several thousand people took part in the action. The court hearing was postponed for two days.

On January 17, the court sentenced the activist to four years in a general regime penal colony. After the verdict was announced, clashes between demonstrators and police began near the court. The rally participants threw snowballs at the police, and law enforcement officers used batons and tear gas. According to the Telegram channel Baza, 40 people were injured during the rally – 22 police officers and 18 protesters. They all sought medical help. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on mass riots (Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
