Two more criminal cases were initiated against the former mayor of Belgorod, Anton Ivanov. This was announced by a representative of the prosecutor’s office in the Belgorod Regional Court, where they are considering a petition to change the measure of restraint for the ex-mayor.
Cases were initiated due to the receipt of a bribe by a Lenovo laptop worth more than 150 thousand rubles and due to the illegal sale of land under articles 290 and 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The total damage from Ivanov’s actions for the region’s budget exceeded 10 million rubles.
Ivanov had previously been arrested for two months in a bribery case.
Ivanov took over as head of the Belgorod administration in December 2021. He announced the decision to leave the position at the end of October 2022.
