I like to lie on the couch and watch movies

Dmitry Mazurov is well known to both fans of melodramas and lovers of detective stories, and, perhaps, many other genres. Few of his peers can boast of such a number of films and the diversity of roles. Yes, he does not brag, he just works, finding something interesting for himself in each project. The other day, the melodrama Test of Loyalty was aired on the Domashny TV channel, and on March 14 the film As if there was no separation started, where Dmitry played the main characters.

– “As if there was no separation” – the name is optimistic …

— And a story with a happy ending. Our heroes Igor and Ella (actress Irina Efremova) lived together for many years, they have an adult daughter. It would seem that everything settled down. But at some point they diverge and each begins his own life. And both want to connect themselves with new partners, but both realize in time that they love each other …

– The second project, too, judging by the name, is about loyalty and love. And in the first story, your hero, although not faithful to his wife, is quite positive. What is his mission in this story?

— My character Maxim is needed in order to betray the main character Vladimir (actor Vladimir Seleznev. – I. Sh.) didn’t seem so terrible. He betrays both the girl and the friendship. My hero is only interested in money and a career. But, as in every fairy tale, evil was exposed by good and punished.

— Many plots of the series revolve around the same thing, and the audience watches with interest every time.

— You probably remember there was a reality show where there were cameras in all the rooms and almost in the toilets. And people were watching. Because other people’s secrets and secrets are always interesting. The audience empathizes with the characters and wants to believe that everything will end well. We, the actors, want intrigue, the development of the hero. But sometimes a good director or cameraman can become a significant argument, and the financial component is also important.

— What about partners? Such as Lyudmila Chursina …

— Yes, Lyudmila Alekseevna played the mother of my character in the series Purely Moscow Murders. Naturally, I did not know her and did not know what to expect, what kind of relationship. But literally, as soon as we met, director Philip Korshunov said: “Lyudmila Alekseevna, meet Dima, he will play your son.” And she instantly: “Lord, son, how you grew up, I didn’t even notice!” I realized that she was in perfect order with a sense of humor and attitude towards young colleagues. I worked great with her. There were no more worries about the fact that you can forget the text or something else. She is a powerful and true professional, you can feel the school in her. No matter what anyone tells me that in the movies they like to take people from the street in order to get the truth, I do not agree. Get the truth from professionals, you don’t need to make a booth out of the profession.

— I know that you took part in the TV project “Dancing with the Stars” …

— It’s not just dancing, it’s ballroom dancing, and that’s a serious thing. Until 2011, I did not dance. When I was offered, at first I refused. Well, I absolutely did not see myself as a dancer.

— And how were you persuaded?

— They said who the rivals would be, how it would all happen, and that there would really be rehearsals and preparations, that professionals would work with us. And the most important thing that interested me more than the dances themselves was overcoming the psychological barrier: I will go out and do what I can’t do on the air.

— In real direct?!

— In the most truthful! In the evening, the beat sounded, and we went out onto the parquet. It can’t be compared to going on stage in a play, it can’t be compared to filming process in any way. The adrenaline was so high there, you had to overcome your nerves and excitement. Then the next stage – your dance begins to be dismantled by professionals who do not climb into their pocket for a word. This is also interesting: to somehow navigate in all this fuse and formulate your idea, to enter into some kind of dialogue with the jury. Each dance was absolutely new for me, it seemed that I was dancing even when I was sleeping. And in our season, both partners were not professional dancers. I was paired with the Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Anna Gavrilenko. There was only one performance when we were separated and given a professional dancer. The most important thing was to succeed! In general, I did not regret a bit that I signed up to participate, but my career as a ballroom dancer ended there.

— In your piggy bank of television experience there is a project “Cinema Kitchen”. Do you cook at home?

— At home, I like to lie on the couch and watch movies. Thank God that we have a gold reserve of wonderful Soviet films. Ranging from light comedies to serious works. They help to live. And about cooking, to be honest, it suits the mood. This can happen at a picnic or in the country. Otherwise, I don’t go to the stove and, frankly, I don’t quite understand how it turns on: now such stoves have gone that you can’t figure it out without a woman. (Smiling.)

— Now you surprised me about lying on the couch. You are the father of two boys.

— And we also like to go to the cinema to watch movies with them. But the eldest, George, is very busy with us. He has already graduated from a music school in piano, studies at the Central Music School at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, he has an hour and a half concert program – Rachmaninoff, Beethoven. So he is not up to us.

— I read that the youngest is also engaged in music …

— Dima will graduate from a music school in the violin class this year. He declares that he will keep it for himself as a hobby for life, to be like Sherlock in the evenings by the fireplace. (smiling.) Although he has good success. By the way, no one forced him to play the violin, he himself chose this instrument in the children’s art school. We were surprised with his mother. And besides music, he is fond of sports, but not as a player, but as a columnist. He knows the teams, the players, he is a fan of CSKA. So we go to basketball, football and hockey, it doesn’t matter to us. And we have personal sports bowling matches. If earlier I had to miss sometimes so that he would not be upset when losing, now he is a very serious opponent.

– What kind of victories do you dream of?

— Probably, I dream more about the victories of my children in their deeds and tasks. I myself do not set goals for myself to “win”, of course, I would like luck to smile as often as possible! As long as there is a desire and strength to work honestly and fully both in the theater and in the cinema. And let the audience judge the result, whether it is a victory or a defeat!
