Two freestyle skiing teams have started training camps in the Yaroslavl region

Training camps for freestyle skiers of the national teams of Russia and Belarus have begun at the Podolino ski center in the Yaroslavl region. Let us remind you that for this purpose, all the conditions were created in Podolino several years ago – special jumps, skiing and cross-country trails, infrastructure for accommodation.

The training camp is led by the senior coach of the Russian national team, Alexander Pongilsky. The work of Belarusian athletes is supervised by Mikhail Kurlovich, head coach of the Belarusian national ski acrobatics team.

The main task at the initial stage of training is to develop the basic elements.

In the second part of the training camp, the coaching group will work on elements of high complexity with the athletes. So, Maxim Burov, a graduate of the Yaroslavl freestyle school, will have to practice a new jump – “three with six”.

In addition to Ilya and Maxim Burov, the most titled athletes of the Russian Federation in the ski acrobatics discipline, young athletes also participate in the training camp.

There are currently 8 athletes in the Russian national team.

In the new year, 2024, Podolino will host several major freestyle competitions: two stages of the Russian Cup, youth and junior championships. From February 28, the “Champions Cup” will be held, in which the national teams of the Russian Federation and Belarus will take part.

The weather is favorable for the athletes – there is enough snow on the jumps and on the slopes.
