Russian companies that own mass media (media) will have to create internal structural units responsible for information security (IS) issues by 2025. This requirement will apply to all channels of the first and second multiplexes, as well as to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, ITAR-TASS and MIA Rossiya Segodnya. In addition, they will have to switch to domestic information security tools (IPS), and the use of IPS from unfriendly countries will be prohibited.
The same requirement from January 1, 2025 will apply to cellular communications and satellite TV operators.
