Turned black with grief: a tearful Pakhmutova said goodbye to her husband

The funeral service for Nikolai Dobronravov ended at the Sretensky Monastery. Alexandra Pakhmutova was the first to follow the coffin with the poet’s body. It is noticeable that the 93-year-old composer has greatly declined. She was led out of the temple by the arms. Alexandra Pakhmutova could not hold back her tears.
But on the way out I found the strength to thank the temple workers.
“Thank you very much,” said the composer.
The parishioners wanted to express words of condolences to Pakhmutova, but no one was allowed near her. Alexandra Nikolaevna sat in the front seat of the car, as she always loves, and drove off after the hearse.
“Poor Alechka,” sighed one of the women present. “There’s no face on her: she’s blackened with grief.”
Those around the composer reported that after the news of her husband’s death, Pakhmutova cried incessantly. Doctors monitor her condition and regularly give her sedatives. But it doesn’t help much.
“Alexandra Nikolaevna asked only for one thing: to see Nikolai Nikolaevich off on his last journey with dignity,” they said in Pakhmutova’s entourage. – We hope everything goes as it should.
