A group of State Duma deputies from the LDPR and Senator Elena Afanasyeva introduced a bill obliging the expulsion of migrants from Russia for violating a number of articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. Document published in the Duma electronic database.
Migrants will face expulsion for violating the state border regime and the regime at border checkpoints, for working in the Russian Federation illegally, for violating immigration rules, for non-compliance with restrictions on certain types of activities and for violating the deadline for applying for a patent. Now, for violation of these articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses, a fine with possible deportation from the Russian Federation is provided.
The explanatory note states that, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, over the past three years, crime among migrants has increased by 25%. “This circumstance creates additional pressure on society. No less important is the participation of migrants in the country’s shadow economy and in fueling it,” the authors of the initiative believe.
Among them are deputies Yaroslav Nilov, Alexey Didenko, Sergey Leonov, Dmitry Svishchev.
Prosecutor General’s Office based on the results of 2022 recorded an increase in the crime rate among migrants by 10%. The number of migrants deported from Russia last year increased 2.5 times. Head of the Human Rights Council Valery Fadeev called for establish quotas for migrant workers.
