The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement from which it follows that the country is recalling its ambassador to Tel Aviv, Ozkan Torunlar, to Ankara for consultations.
The reason given is that “the Israeli side did not accept calls for a ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip.
On the morning of October 7, Israel was subjected to a large-scale rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. The Israel Defense Forces said more than 3,000 rockets were launched. In addition, Hamas fighters infiltrated the border areas in southern Israel, killing and taking many civilians and military personnel hostage. In response, Israel launched Operation Iron Swords against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
