Leading Turkish seismologist Naci Görür, in an interview with the Cumhuriyet newspaper, predicted tremors with a magnitude of 7.4 in eastern Turkey.
According to him, Tunceli province is currently under threat. This happens because the Yedisu fault runs between Erzincan and Karliova.
“If an earthquake occurs on this fault, it can reach 7.4 points. It is located near Tunceli and is surrounded by an active fault from the West,” Görür noted.
He clarified that aftershocks could occur in the region of Eastern Anatolia.
