Turkish parliament bans Coca-Cola and Nestle

The Turkish Parliament has decided to ban Coca-Cola and Nestle products from canteens and food establishments located on its premises. This move is motivated by the manufacturing companies’ alleged support for Israel in the context of the Gaza conflict. Reuters reports this.
In a statement, Turkey’s Grand National Assembly said products from companies supporting Israel will no longer be offered in the parliament’s restaurants, cafeterias and teahouses.
The decision to introduce this ban was made by Speaker Numan Kurtulmus in order to support the public initiative to boycott the products of companies that have clearly expressed their support for Israeli military actions and violence against civilians in Gaza.
