Gazprom, under a contract with the Istanbul football club Besiktas, will pay him €78 million over the next three years, Taktik Mania reports. According to the portal, the agreement provides for a possible extension of the deal for two years. The contract involves the placement of the Gazprom logo on the club’s shirts, as well as the renaming of their home stadium.
Under the current agreement, the naming rights of the Istanbul stadium belong to Vodafone. The contract with her was signed in 2013, three years before the opening of the arena, and brought Besiktas about €6 million annually. The fact that a Russian company could become a sponsor of a football team was reported back in April. Besiktas is third in the Turkish Super League this season.
