Over 12,000 athletes took part in the Kazan Marathon

The Kazan Marathon, the main sporting event of Tatarstan, has come to an end. This year, 12 thousand athletes from 16 countries of the world and 456 cities of Russia became its participants.
The main awards, 150 thousand rubles each, were taken by Daniyar Ormangali from Kazakhstan and Veronika Vazhnik from Belarus. They showed the best results in the royal run of 42.2 km.
The winners in the half-marathon distance were the runner from Moscow Maria Smirnova and the athlete from Izhevsk Alexei Poltanov.
Yaroslav Byakin and Anna Boynova finished first in the ten-kilometer race.
Representatives of the Government of Tatarstan and the mayor’s office of Kazan, as well as famous athletes also took part in the races.
The race across Kazan has been held annually since 2015. Next year will be an anniversary year for the Kazan Marathon.
