Tula AKM players played for the Russian national team for the first time in history

For all fans of AKM, this day was special – two hockey players from the Tula team, Gleb Petrov and Vladislav Rybakov, made their debut in the Russian national team at once. For the first time in history, the players of the Mikhailov Academy system were called up to the national team.
In the 2021/2022 season, Gleb Petrov played for the Mikhailov Academy, playing in the MHL, and was one of the team leaders, becoming the best MHL sniper as a result of the regular champion. The striker spent the past season in the Tula AKM, earning 37 (20 + 17) points in 60 matches.
Gleb Petrov, in his own words, felt the support from the stands and this factor helped to remove the excitement in the debut for the national team:
– A very cool team – in such a short time everyone rallied, it’s very nice to be there. In Tula, hockey is being popularized, more and more people come to the games. This is a plus for everyone. It’s nice when you play at home, everyone is supportive. Of course, there was a little excitement, after all, the first match for the national team, but the fans removed this excitement, and the boys supported it.
Vladislav Rybakov joined the Tula team in the 2022/2023 season. To his credit, he already had the experience of playing for the Russian national team at the international tournament and the Black Sea Cup as part of the youth team (juniors born in 1999).
The match against the national team of Belarus ended with a score of 4:1 in favor of the Russian team 25. The game was attended by 2975 spectators.
