Aeronauts from the Altai Territory covered a distance of 93 kilometers in a hot air balloon. This is the first such case in the region. Ivan and Natalya Yartsev flew over the forest, which is located between Barnaul and Biysk. This is what they are talking about told on your social networks.

The flight took place on March 13, around noon. As the travelers explained, the balloon does not have an engine and flies at the speed of the wind and in the direction of the wind.

“The forest between the Ob and the Biysk route is quite long and it is impossible to land anywhere in it, since the pick-up machine will not get there,” the balloonists note.

The balloon took off near the village of Ust-Aleyka, Kalman district. The flight took 4 hours 34 minutes. We landed near the village of Voskhod in the Zonal District, not far from the Chuisky tract. The flight took place mainly at the maximum permitted altitude of 1800 meters.

“The clouds on the horizon were at an altitude of 1000-1200 meters. The speed at this altitude was 28-32 km/h. In the middle of the route we descended to the height of the trees, where the speed was 10 km/h. You can see a lot of traces of wild animals in the forest; there are entire trails to small thawed areas on streams and small rivulets. The final hour and a half passed at an altitude of 300-700 meters, where the speed was no more than 8-15 km/hour,” the travelers said.

They planned the flight several years ago and managed to realize their dream this year. Wait for suitable weather there were more than two months when there was little wind above the ground, and at altitude the air flows had the desired speed and direction.
