The Russian alpine skiing championship began on Sakhalin. The opening of the competition was announced by the regional Ministry of Sports.

In the junior championship, Ivan Mizintsev from St. Petersburg won gold, Oleg Furaev took second place, and Semyon Chelmakin from the Chelyabinsk region closed the top three.
