On Saturday, September 17, the traditional Cross of the Nation will be held in Yekaterinburg. It will bring together several hundred professional athletes and amateurs.
In connection with the competition, traffic will be limited along the streets along which the Cross of the Nation will take place. From 7:00 to 14:30, Lenin Avenue from Eastern to Mir, as well as Mira Street from Malyshev to Pervomaiskaya, will be closed. Parking will also be prohibited in these areas.
According to Lyudmila Fitina, head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the city administration, for the first time, the run of the strongest will take place within the framework of the “Cross of the Nation”. Professional athletes will run distances of 8 kilometers (men), 4 kilometers (women). Young athletes from 11 to 15 years old will overcome the distance of 1 kilometer.
The opening ceremony will take place at 11:30 in front of the main academic building of UrFU. The corporate run starts at 11:50 am, at 12:00 pm joggers from all regions will start.
Previously, MK-Ural, which in 2019, the Sverdlovsk region joined the all-Russian action “Cross of the Nation”. In Yekaterinburg, the race, which was attended by 50,000 people, was led by the then Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov and Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev.
