Leonid Volodarsky was born on May 20, 1950 in Moscow. He graduated from the Maurice Thorez Moscow State Institute of Foreign Languages. Mr. Volodarsky translated works of art by English and American writers. He was one of the first translators of the works of Stephen King and also translated the works of Jerome Salinger.
Mr. Volodarsky became widely known as a simultaneous interpreter of foreign films that appeared in the USSR and Russia in the 1980s and early 1990s.
