The Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Alexander Osipov signed a decree on payments from 100,000 to 3 million rubles. Transbaikalians for capturing or destroying Leopard and Abrams tanks during a special operation in Ukraine, should from the document.
The resolution states that a citizen who managed to capture a Leopard tank in working condition of any modification is entitled to a payment of 3 million rubles, and a citizen participating in the capture – 500,000 rubles. For the destruction of one Leopard tank, 1 million rubles will be paid, those who participated in the destruction – 150,000 rubles each.
Those who captured the M1 Abrams tank or other main battle tanks produced in NATO countries can count on the payment. The capturing tank will receive 1.5 million rubles, the destroyer – 500,000 rubles. Those who helped to capture or destroy the tank will receive 300,000 and 150,000 rubles. respectively.
On January 25, Bloomberg, citing a statement by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, reported that Germany had announced the shipment of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The German-made tanks would come from the warehouses of the Bundeswehr. According to the statement, Germany will also provide the allies with the necessary permission to re-export their Leopard 2s to Ukraine. On the same day, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that German tanks would be delivered to Ukraine no earlier than in 3-4 months. But a day later, he promised Ukraine the delivery of Leopard 2 “by the end of March.”
The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv. In particular, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has repeatedly pointed out that pumping Ukraine with weapons brings NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly said that the supply of weapons to Ukraine will not prevent Russia from achieving the goals of the special operation.
