Traffic on the Crimean railway was suspended after a detonation at an ammunition depot, which occurred on Saturday, July 22, in the Krasnogvardeisky district of Crimea. About it informed head of the peninsula Sergei Aksenov.
“To minimize the risks, it was also decided to suspend traffic on the Crimean railway. We expect that the consequences of the emergency will be eliminated in a short time,” Aksyonov wrote in his Telegram channel.
The explosion at the ammunition depot occurred after the attack of the Ukrainian drone. According to the preliminary data of the authorities, there were no other damages and victims. At the same time, it was decided to evacuate the population within a radius of 5 kilometers from the emergency site to temporary accommodation points.
According to Aksyonov, today’s emergency was similar to the recent incident in the Kirovsky district of the peninsula, when the authorities also announced an evacuation due to a fire and detonation of ammunition at the training ground. On the morning of July 19, the head of Crimea announced a fire at a military training ground, as a result of which the Tavrida highway was blocked on a section of the road from 118 km to 130 km. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Crimea announced the evacuation of about 2,225 people from four settlements.
