The ambassador spoke about the Russian response to Poland’s claims because of Putin’s words

Warsaw received a proper response to the claims to the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which he said that thanks to Stalin’s position, Poland received significant land in the West. About this “RIA Novosti” informed Russian Ambassador to Warsaw Sergey Andreev.

Earlier on Saturday, July 22, Andreev was summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry in connection with Putin’s statements during a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council. Then the president recalled that in 1939 the republic was thrown by the Western allies to “devour” the German military machine and lost its independence and statehood. According to him, thanks to the USSR and the position of Stalin, Poland received significant lands in the West, the lands of Germany. The western territories of present-day Poland are “a gift from Stalin to the Poles”, emphasized head of state.

Andreev said that Pavel Yablonsky, Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, had a conversation with him, he “put forward the claims of the Polish side about what our president said yesterday at a meeting with members of the Security Council.”

“Naturally, he received a proper response, explanations about how we see both the history of the 20th century and the behavior of the Polish authorities at the present time in connection with the conflict in Donbas and Ukraine,” the ambassador said, adding that the parties did not reach an understanding.
