The Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of foreign mercenaries during an attack on Lviv

The Russian Defense Ministry announced the destruction of a “large number” of Polish and German mercenaries as a result of a strike on the territory of the Academy of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) in Lvov. About it says in the department’s daily report on the progress of the special operation.

“According to confirmed data, on July 6, as a result of a group strike with sea-based long-range precision weapons, a large number of Polish and German mercenaries stationed there were destroyed on the territory of the Academy of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Lvov,” the statement said.

The ministry added that since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, about 4,990 foreign fighters have been killed, and another 4,910 “fled from the areas of hostilities.”

Over the past day, the Armed Forces (AF) of Russia repelled 14 attacks of the Ukrainian military in the Donetsk direction. Ammunition depots were destroyed near Novgorodsky and Konstintinovka in the DPR.

“In the areas of the settlements of Zolotarevka of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Vesele and Yasnogorka of the Donetsk People’s Republic, accumulations of manpower and equipment of the 28th, 60th, 115th mechanized, 10th mountain assault and 81st airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as two field camps of foreign mercenaries, were hit,” the ministry said.

Seven enemy attacks were repelled in the Krasnoliman direction. At Chervona Dibrova LPR, the activities of the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) were stopped. Three attacks were repulsed in the South-Donetsk direction, and the activities of two DRGs were stopped in the Zaporizhzhya direction.

“Operational-tactical and army aviation, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during the day defeated the 94th artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 117 districts,” the Defense Ministry said.

The ministry also reported that a temporary deployment point for foreign mercenaries was hit in the Chernihiv region, and an aviation fuel depot was destroyed at the Kanatovo airbase in the Kirovohrad region.

During the day, air defense systems intercepted 15 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers (MLRS), three HARM anti-radar missiles and a Storm Shadow cruise missile. 15 drones destroyed.

Earlier about the strike on Lviv informed Telegram channel “Military Chronicle”. According to him, the Caliber strike was carried out on the ninth educational building of the Academy of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where foreign specialists in combat training, mine-explosives and sabotage were located.

“All the dead, presumably, were supposed to go closer to the front line to check and train assault and mechanized units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the channel said.
