A Ukrainian drone attacked the Krasnogvardeisky district of Crimea, a detonation occurred at an ammunition depot, said the governor of the peninsula, Sergei Aksyonov. The authorities decided to evacuate the population within a radius of 5 km.
“As a result of an enemy drone attack on the Krasnogvardeisky district, a detonation occurred at an ammunition depot. There were no damages or casualties, according to preliminary data. A decision was made to evacuate the population within a radius of 5 kilometers from the place of emergency to temporary accommodation centers,” – wrote Aksenov in his Telegram channel.
The authorities also decided to suspend traffic on the Crimean railway “to minimize risks.” Aksenov expects that the consequences of the incident will be eliminated in a short time. Operational information will be published on the website of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic and other official resources, he added.
According to Aksyonov, today’s emergency was similar to the recent incident in the Kirovsky district of the peninsula, when the authorities also announced an evacuation due to a fire and detonation of ammunition at the training ground. On the morning of July 19, the head of Crimea announced a fire at a military training ground, as a result of which the Tavrida highway was blocked on a section of the road from 118 km to 130 km. In the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Crimea announced about the evacuation of about 2225 people from four settlements – the villages of Krinichki, Aivazovskoye, Abrikosovka, Privetnoe. It was clarified that it is planned to accommodate residents in TAPs in schools in Pervomaisky and Kirovsky.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed understand the causes of the fire at the military training ground in the Kirovsky district of Crimea and help people. Aksyonov then noted that the instructions of the head of state were being fulfilled. According to him, 217 people, including 55 children, are in temporary accommodation centers. Traffic on the highway “Tavrida” resumed the next day after the fire at the site.
