After an attack by Ukrainian drones on the Crimean Bridge on July 17, its road part was damaged; the bridge later resumed operation in reverse mode. In addition, on October 8, a truck was blown up on the Crimean Bridge. As a result, three spans of the highway line were damaged and traffic was stopped. The tanks of a freight train that was moving along the railway at that moment caught fire. According to preliminary data from the Russian Investigative Committee, three people died as a result of the explosion. On October 12, the Russian FSB announced the discovery of a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, naming the organizer – the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. The bridge was later restored.

In June, State Duma deputy from Crimea, Major General of the Reserve Leonid Ivlev took the initiative to increase the number of additional inspection points on the Crimean Bridge. Ivlev also proposed increasing the number of inspectors for this period in order to avoid a repeat of the traffic jam situation in the future. According to the deputy, he plans to send the corresponding document to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.
