On January 7, the Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo hockey players played their next home match as part of the KHL regular championship for the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod feels great in the Western Conference standings, where it has been fighting for the highest places for the second year in a row. In the home match against Dynamo Minsk, Igor Larionov’s team were considered favorites and could count on victory, but the Torpedo hockey players failed to please the fans. By the middle of the second period, Torpedo was losing with a score of 4:0 and lost any real chance of winning. The Torpedo hockey players managed to escape from a crushing and humiliating defeat thanks to two scored goals. The final siren recorded the score 5:2 in favor of Dynamo Minsk.
Torpedo will play its next regular season match on January 9. Igor Larionov’s team will play in Moscow against CSKA.
