On January 20, the Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo futsal players played their next home match as part of the regular championship of the PARI-Super League for the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod is showing good results in the elite division of Russian futsal and takes a place in the first half of the tournament table, considered a contender for home-court advantage in the first round. Based on the results of 25 matches played, Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo settled in 5th place, with 43 points scored and second only to competitors from Moscow, Ukhta, Yugorsk and Norilsk.
In the first home match against the New Generation, the Torpedo futsal players were considered favorites, but they did not justify their status. The main time of the match turned out to be nervous and equal, and the Nizhny Novgorod team was in the lead for most of it. In the second half, “New Generation” came to its senses and returned to the game, bringing the match to a draw with the score 4:4. In the penalty shootout, the New Generation futsal players turned out to be stronger, converting all 5 of their attempts. The Nizhny Novgorod team gave up twice and lost in the penalty shootout with a score of 3:5.
