Torpedo lost to SKA due to defensive errors by more experienced players, coach of the Nizhny Novgorod team Igor Larionov told the Championship. The game ended with a score of 4:3 in favor of the home team.
Larionov noted that he expected composure and calmness from more experienced hockey players, but this did not happen.
“We understood the magnitude of this stadium for young boys, so it’s natural for them to get on such a huge stage, against a strong opponent. We didn’t manage to equalize the score, but I’m proud of my team, my youth, who played very well,” said the Torpedo coach.
Let us remind you that from the guests’ side of the puck rink scored Nikolai Kovalenko, Bobby Lynch and Denis Yan. On the home side, Andrei Pedan, Nikolai Polyakov, Marat Khairullin and Maxim Fedotov scored. SKA will hold its next meeting on February 20 with Severstal (Cherepovets). Torpedo will play against Spartak on the same day.
