President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting of the National Kurultai that he considers it advisable to take into account opinions on the need to change the state emblem of the republic.
According to him, professionals, concerned citizens and young people express the opinion that the coat of arms of Kazakhstan is difficult to perceive, it contains eclecticism and “signs of the Soviet era.”
Tokayev proposed creating a commission to resolve this issue, which would consider all aspects and hold public discussions. After this, an open competition can be announced for the best sketch of the state emblem of Kazakhstan.
