A resident of Kogalym threw a Molotov cocktail into a stationary voting box for the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, reported in the election commission of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO-Yugra). It is noted that the “unsuccessful arson attempt” occurred at 13:18 Moscow time at polling station No. 484.
“The ballots and technological equipment were not damaged. Voting at the polling station continues,” the election commission noted.
In Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, 734 polling stations operate on voting days for the presidential elections. Earlier, election commission employees informed 816 thousand voters in the region (residents of 99.3% of households) about the elections, of which 82.7% stated about intention to participate in voting.
As of 15:00 local time, voter turnout in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug amounted to 26.10% of the total number of voters. “Voting in Ugra is taking place in a calm manner, in accordance with the norms of election legislation. There were no complaints or appeals to the Election Commission of the Autonomous Okrug,” the election commission noted.
