Traditionally, in mid-February, pharmaceutical companies compile a list of health-related topics that Russian journalists paid maximum attention to during the year. As the analysis of publications shows, in the first place in terms of popularity in 2022 were materials related to vaccination against respiratory infections. In total, more than 310 thousand such materials were prepared. Moreover, curiously, publications about vaccinations against coronovirus appeared three times more often than publications about flu shots.

The second place in terms of the frequency of publications was occupied by materials on the state of the pharmaceutical market in Russia, especially the reduction in the activities of foreign companies, the development of domestic manufacturers and import substitution. About 100 thousand such publications were prepared.

The most popular topics related to specific areas of health, which were raised by journalists, were the topics of women’s and mental health last year. In their publications, journalists spoke about issues of reproduction, various gynecological diseases, and also covered the topic of state participation in women’s health issues. But the topic of mental health in 2022 was devoted to almost 55 times less publications than in 2021.

As Anna Pokhitonova, a representative of the pharmaceutical company, explained, the publications of journalists reflect the reality existing in society, that is, they show what medical problems the population is concerned about.
