In the central regions of Russia, the anomalous Epiphany thaw will be replaced by the usual January frosts. Evgeny Tishkovets, the leading specialist of the Phobos weather center, told about this.
“The final day of the atypical thaw for Epiphany will be Friday. Typically, such intrusions of subtropical heat with a temperature background of 9-10 degrees above normal occur in Central Russia no more than once every 5-6 years,” he said. in an interview with Sputnik radio.
The forecaster noted that a cold snap will begin on Saturday, on Sunday the temperature will be from 0 to -5 degrees during the day, and from -2 to -7 at night. By the middle of next week, the usual frosts for this period will set in the regions of the country, from -1 to -6 during the day and from -8 to -13 at night. No record frosts are forecast.
