On May 5, our country celebrates Diver’s Day. They make a significant contribution to the work of underwater engineering structures and networks of Mosvodokanal JSC. The company’s divers spent a total of 3,000 hours underwater last year.
The duties of the diving service of the water company include the inspection, cleaning and repair of water and sewer facilities. We are talking about 60 km of engineering networks, as well as parts of water supply and sanitation facilities located under water.
Ten divers of the company’s core division spent a total of 3,000 hours at depth last year. The average weight of a diver’s equipment is about 80 kg (only the helmet weighs 15 kg). To ensure the reliability of water supply and sanitation of the capital, divers of the diving service of Mosvodokanal JSC work in two shifts all year round.
Mosvodokanal divers dive to depths of up to 27 meters every day. Specialists carry out work to assess the state of the underwater part of dams, hydroelectric power plants, pumping stations, underwater siphon passages, emergency releases, clean trash screens and fish protection structures, carry out underwater welding and cutting, as well as other types of underwater technical work.
