Three people died in Donetsk as a result of the detonation of a previously unexploded cluster submunition, Mayor Alexei Kulemzin said on his Telegram channel. We are talking about communal workers, he said.

“In the Kiev region, as a result of the detonation of a previously unexploded cluster submunition, three employees of a public utility company were killed – men born in 1998, 1996 and 1998,” – wrote he, adding that another man was injured.

In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled Donetsk 17 races from 9:00 to 21:00 on August 18. 45 shells of 155-mm “NATO” caliber were fired at the city, including 11 cluster ones, as well as nine rockets from MLRS.

The Donetsk People’s Republic is regularly shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On September 30, 2022, the region, along with the LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, became part of Russia. On October 19 of the same year, martial law was introduced in the new regions. Protecting the residents of Donbass is one of the tasks of the special operation, which began in February last year.
