Three communications satellites of the Rassvet-1 mission launched into orbit

Three communication satellites were successfully launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome into orbit as part of the Rassvet-1 test mission of the Bureau 1440 company. This was reported in the press service of the company (the press release is at the disposal of Vedomosti).

The launch took place on June 27. The devices were launched on the carrier rocket “Soyuz-2.1b” together with other spacecraft of the state corporation “Roscosmos”. On June 28, the corporation reported that there was installed a record for the number of simultaneously launched Russian satellites – 39 Russian-made spacecraft and 3 foreign ones.

According to Roskosmos, the launch of the Bureau 1440 satellites was carried out “to conduct orbital experiments, validate the technologies of the target space system and obtain flight qualification of the developed satellite components.” The spacecraft were launched to an altitude of 558.4 km. It is expected that in the coming months, Bureau 1440 engineers will conduct experiments on broadband data transmission in various scenarios. After that, all vehicles will be deorbited.

The company explained that the goal of Bureau 1440 is to create a commercial broadband data transmission service at high speeds with minimal delays using low-orbit satellites. The company was established in November 2020 and is part of the ICS Holding IT group.
