They wanted to release the “incest monster” Josef Fritzl

Austrian Josef Fritzl, who was sentenced to life imprisonment back in 2009 and used his daughter as a sex slave for 24 years, may be free. A psychiatric examination ruled that the 88-year-old criminal “no longer poses a danger to society.”

The name of Josef Fritzl, who is now 88 years old, has thundered throughout the world. In 2009, he was sentenced to life in prison after admitting keeping his daughter Elizabeth locked in a basement as a sex slave for 24 years.

His daughter disappeared in 1984 at the age of 18 and did not reappear until April 26, 2008, when she was discovered. During this time, at the family home in Amstetten in Lower Austria, Elisabeth fathered seven children with her beast father.

One died at the hands of Fritzl a few days after birth. The body of the unfortunate baby was thrown into the trash. The other three were raised by Josef himself and his wife Rosemary.

Local media report that Josef appears confused, regularly talks to television, considers himself a pop star and talks about visits from relatives who never happened.

He changed his name to Mayrhoff after other prisoners knocked out his teeth at Garsten Abbey, a former monastery converted into a high-security psychiatric unit.

Josef Fritzl was arrested in 2008 on suspicion of rape, false imprisonment and negligent manslaughter after driving Kerstin, Elisabeth’s eldest daughter, to hospital.

In March 2009, he pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to life in prison. Under the terms of his sentence, Fritzl will be eligible for parole this year. And that seems likely now that a new psychiatric report says the basement monster is no longer dangerous.

The report said he could barely walk and needed a walker to get around after several falls. Experts say he may not pose a serious threat to either his old or potential new victims.

If Fritzl’s wishes are granted, he will likely be sent to a nursing home to live out the rest of his days in comfort.

Heidi Kastner, one of Austria’s leading forensic psychiatric experts from the University of Linz, reportedly spent a year preparing her new study on Fritzl.

She concluded that the country’s most notorious prisoner no longer posed any danger and that there was no longer any risk of him engaging in any criminal activity.

“I am already seeking parole for him. If the application is approved – and I assume it will be – I would like to ensure that he gets a place in a home for weak people,” Fritzl’s lawyer Astrid Wagner told the Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung.

Kleine Zeitung also reports that although it was noted that the maniac often makes incoherent remarks, he also talked about having an unknown son. This, as the newspaper reports, may have a real basis.

It is alleged that a few months ago, a man from Austria contacted Fritzl and said that he was his son. Josef actually had an affair with the mother of a son who appeared out of nowhere. The man’s date of birth coincides with the time of this relationship.

The newspaper said a DNA test could be done to determine the truth.
