Newspaper “News” reports that the State Duma of the Russian Federation proposed to the Ministry of Construction to install gas sensors in the apartments of Russian citizens during major repairs.
According to Sergei Kolunov, a member of the Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, this should reduce the number of gas explosions in residential buildings. It is assumed that the sensors will not only warn Russians about leaks, but will also cut off the gas supply.
The newspaper indicated that the cost of one such sensor is approximately 3.6 thousand rubles, and its installation costs 1.5 thousand rubles. As Tatyana Vepretskaya, director of the National Housing Congress NP, noted, installation of the appropriate devices requires a connection to electricity. She added that if the cost of this were included in the capital repair bill, then contributions for it could increase.
