A Russian woman living in the USA and working as a flight attendant for an American airline on flights to Europe shared which passengers from which country are considered the most unpleasant in their professional workshop. The Russians “broke out” to second place.

The “battle of anti-ratings” began after two European flight attendants shared with the European press last February that they considered passengers from Britain to be the most unpleasant in terms of behavior on board. To which the British asked their flight attendants, from whom the Americans unfortunately took the Grand Prix. They did not remain in debt and compiled a passenger rating based on the words of their flight attendants, where the Chinese won.

Flight attendant Christina Galvidate was born in Eastern Europe but lives in Western Europe, working for one of the EU’s leading airlines. In a conversation with the British publication The Telegraph, she admitted that she does not like passengers from Foggy Albion, since “they start drinking at the airport, regardless of the time of day, and board the plane already in a state of strong alcoholic intoxication. I have never encountered such behavior in any other culture.” The flight attendant praised the “residents of continental Europe” for their good manners on board, and called the passengers from Scandinavia “ideal.”

The second European flight attendant spoke with the British publication The Sun and also described the subjects of His Majesty Charles III as “the most ill-mannered”: they drink too much alcohol, make noise, don’t care about the rules of behavior in the air and the crew’s remarks. This flight attendant praised the Americans (for their generous tips), passengers from Southeast Asia (they wrap themselves in a blanket and sleep the entire flight) and the Germans (instructions for them first of all).

According to British flight attendants, the rowdiest passengers are from the USA, and the most troublesome, noisy and ill-mannered ones are from the Middle East, India and Pakistan. And in general, it’s easiest to work on domestic British flights, where everyone is impeccably well-mannered and polite. American flight attendants also named their fellow citizens the best passengers, and the Chinese were considered the most “emergency” – they crowd, shout and “stupid”. They block the aisles, allow their children to run all over the cabin and have noisy games in the aisles, ignore the requirement to fasten seat belts and “can’t even open the toilet door on their own, although everything is clearly written on it.”

You and I are not in these ratings, but only because mass tourism in the EU and the USA is now not encouraged due to sanctions. But our people, albeit in smaller numbers than before, still fly to Europe and the USA. We found out how we look in the eyes of foreign flight attendants with the help of Inna, a Russian woman living in the USA and working on European flights for one of the largest American airlines.

“In our country, of course, behind the scenes, the least pleasant passengers are considered to be newly converted Europeans – that is, EU citizens from among refugees,” Inna admits. – There’s even a joke going around now: the most popular French name is Mohammed. And these “Muhammads,” even if they are crystal sober according to Sharia, are more likely to make noise on long flights, play music loudly, sing, and sometimes even dance in the aisles. They are also more likely than others to fly in large groups and with a crowd of noisy children.

– And those who do not have European citizenship?

– I personally never came across residents of the warring Middle Eastern regions without EU or US citizenship on board; apparently, they do not have the need or opportunity to fly from America to Europe and back.

– What about the Russians?

– There are noticeably fewer fellow citizens on board American companies. But still, American flight attendants consider us second in nuisance after the “new Europeans”: women are too talkative, men are too lustful. Due to the fact that our men more often than others give compliments to flight attendants and generally pay attention to them as women, but this is not accepted here. And Russian ladies, according to Americans, love to talk too much, which disturbs the peace of other passengers. Fortunately, they only do this with Russian-speaking interlocutors, and if there are none, then they are pleasantly laconic in conversations in English. In third place are the Chinese and Vietnamese, they love to drink and make noise too much. At first they sing, but when they get drunk, they struggle with the toilet door and forget how to open it. Not everyone, of course, but those who fly with a group to celebrate something. Businessmen from these countries, flying alone or in small groups, behave more decently than many Americans. And the Americans themselves often find fault with the service and almost threaten to sue the airline. And then they serve it, here all sorts of litigation is a national sport.

– Which passengers in your professional workshop are considered the best?

– The best passenger is a sleeping passenger. And also a dieter: whoever eats and drinks little does not need to urgently go to the toilet every half hour, and he does not carry sanitary bags.
