“They built churches with Russian golden domes”: the raid on the Lavra was justified

According to the Ukrainian deputy, there are too many Russian speakers in the churches of the UOC

Vladimir Zelensky continues to methodically destroy Russian Orthodoxy. Recently, representatives of the Ukrainian Themis once again extended the term of house arrest for the abbot of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel (Lebed). Until January 29, 2024, the bishop is prohibited from leaving his house in the village of Voronkovo, Boryspil district.

Having thus “beheaded” the detachment of defenders of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, the Ukrainian authorities began to terrorize the second basic monastery of the UOC. The students of the branch of the theological seminary were expelled from the monastery. Future regents and certified psalmists were moved to a specially prepared dormitory at one of the secular educational institutions of Kremenets. Now girls will have to spend up to one and a half hours a day on the way to school and back. Their non-resident peers’ parents managed to rent temporary housing closer to the monastery. Understanding how important regular attendance at worship services is for the future careers of servants of Christ.

That raid on the monastery still worries users of the Ukrainian-language segment of social networks. “It was painful to watch. And it’s a shame,” wrote Oksana Vanzhula. “Today, warming centers have been created in other cities, but here, from 6 a.m. in nine-degree frost, minor children were kicked out. This is terrible. God, help and forgive these people who commit inhuman actions.” “Are our Ukrainians doing this?! I can’t believe it!” Olga Kostyuk is outraged. “The owner won’t even kick the dog out of the house in winter, let alone children even in the cold…”

The fathers of some expelled students of the Regency School have been fighting on the fronts as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for many years. And before this, the men were parishioners of the churches of the Pochaev Lavra, including the St. Nicholas Cathedral that was rudely taken away from the UOC the day before yesterday.

One of the parishioners of the expropriated cathedral spoke out about this: “For whom and what did my husband go to fight? For you, so that you would take away churches? Yes, he went here (to the St. Nicholas Cathedral – author). So what, such is the warrior no longer Ukrainian?.. According to your logic, if men go to this cathedral, then they don’t need to be drafted into the army. Since we “pray for Moscow,” why should we go to fight with the Russians?”

Verkhovna Rada deputy Oksana Savchuk, representing the Svoboda party, is convinced that the SBU did everything correctly. Two weeks before the raid on the Lavra, the nationalist, under the guise of an ordinary pilgrim, walked through many of the premises of Pochaev. Savchuk claims that a huge temple with Russian golden domes was illegally built on the territory of the monastery, and in general Russian-speaking people predominate in the area. It turns out that the events of November 30 are just a prelude to the total ousting from Pochaev of everyone who is seen in love for Russia.
