At the Limonov Readings in St. Petersburg, the police detained the presenter and three other people

Police officers disrupted the Limonov Readings, held at the Inoteka club in St. Petersburg on the evening of December 2, reported 78.ru. According to the publication, four people were detained, among them the host of the event, Andrei Pesotsky. Telegram channel “National Human Rights Defense” reported that the other three detainees were Kirill Travkin, Stanislav Bubenchikov and Kristina Metkina.

Andrey Pesotsky reported in Telegram channel, that he was detained under the article on petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) for allegedly swearing. According to National Human Rights Protection, other participants in the readings were also detained under the same article.

“Limonov Readings” took place in “Inoteka” on December 2 and were timed to coincide with the anniversary of the creation of the National Bolshevik newspaper “Limonka” (banned in the Russian Federation). The readings were organized by the unregistered party “The Other Russia E.V. Limonov,” its coordinator Andrei Dmitriev claimed that the event was aimed at “Russian patriotic youth” and at “reading poetry in support of the SVO.”

According to “Fontanka”, rappers Shock and Rich also took part in the readings. The latter told the publication that the police explained their arrival by a statement received by the department. “I just came to see my friends. I was asked to perform spontaneously – I read two songs and went home. On the way I saw a cop truck coming. There, as I was told, there was some kind of conflict with a guy with an American flag. Everyone started shouting “Washington is a Russian city,” he went out and started calling someone. Perhaps he called the police,” he said.

Edition MR7.ru notes that the majority of participants in the event are those who returned from hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, as well as activists involved in the transfer of humanitarian aid for the Russian military. Today, December 3, the Limonov Readings will be held at the Paradox loft in Moscow.
