In the past year in the USA occurred at least 639 mass shootings. The largest shooting is considered to be in Yuvalda. Then 19 children and two teachers from an elementary school died.
The tragedy happened on May 24th. 18-year-old Salvador Ramos burst into the classrooms armed with a rifle. The actions of the police in response to the incident were widely criticized. More than an hour passed after the first report of the shots, before law enforcement officers took up positions around the school. Later, some of them admitted that they were delaying the assault, as they were afraid to get hit by bullets.
In early April, at least five gunmen from rival gangs killed six people and wounded 12 in Sacramento.
On May 14, a white criminal killed 10 black shoppers and workers at a New York supermarket.
In Highland Park, Illinois on July 4, a shooter opened fire from the top of a building. Seven people were killed and dozens of parade participants were injured.
These are only the most massive and resonant cases. Counting shootings is made difficult by the fact that there is no clear definition of them. So far, it is believed that the shooting can be considered mass if at least four people were killed.
