But there were no fewer dangerous attacks by Italy after that. The English showed a completely different game than they are capable of, football expert Ruslan Pimenov is sure:
“The English play very, very primitively and slowly. You can’t perform like that at home with such fast players.”
But we should not forget that in order for the British team to secure a ticket to Euro 2024, it was enough not to lose. Perhaps that is why they did not turn on 100% for a long time. And when they turned on, everything fell into place.
The English won (3:1), and if anyone is not happy with the game, then head coach Gareth Southgate can silently point to the standings of Group C, where England is the sole leader. By the way, the Ukrainian team took second place in the group, beating Malta (3:1). But Italy, firstly, has a game in hand, and, secondly, in the last round the Italians meet the Ukrainians, so Italy will most likely receive a second ticket to Euro 2024.
But in group “H”, the Kazakhstan team presented a surprise to its fans, beating Finland (2:1). After this victory, Kazakhstan received a real opportunity to qualify for Euro 2024 for the first time in history. Everything will be decided in mid-November.
