Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a video message to the participants of the II National Health Congress, called the development of medicine one of the state priorities. According to him, the work of the authorities and medical workers has already achieved decent results. However, the head of state emphasized that “there are enough unresolved issues.”
“The state puts the development of medicine as a priority. Of course, there are plenty of unresolved issues, but the coordinated work of the government, the Ministry of Health, regional authorities, and every medical worker made it possible to achieve decent results, the first of which, of course, is a record life expectancy for Russia: at the end of the year it will be about 74 years,”— the president said in a video message (quote from website Kremlin).
Vladimir Putin pointed out that, as part of the national Healthcare project, almost 2 thousand first aid stations, dozens of modern children’s hospitals and surgical buildings have been created in recent years. According to the president, the most modern medical equipment was also purchased for hospitals, and over 14 thousand cars were purchased for clinic doctors.
“Today, medicine, like our entire country, is faced with new tasks and plans, working conditions are changing, requiring an ever-increasing concentration of forces, experience, knowledge, and prompt adoption of complex management decisions. But one thing remains unchanged – the great mission of the doctor,” Vladimir Putin emphasized and thanked all medical workers in Russia “for their dedicated work and loyalty to their calling.”
