Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba denied the existence of demands from the West to begin peace negotiations with Russia. Recently, many different publications have appeared on this subject. In particular, they stated that the West was insisting on a freeze in hostilities. Otherwise, he is ready to significantly reduce the supply of weapons and other assistance. Meanwhile, the United States and Germany promise to quickly eliminate the difficulties encountered in financing their ally. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize is not optimistic about the prospects for the peace process.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson said that the issue of financing Ukraine and Israel will be resolved, presumably, before Christmas, that is, very soon. According to the Republican politician, he is optimistic.

Yes, of course, the Jewish state is the main priority for America, the Ukrainian one is, in principle, too, but with reservations. It needs to be recalled here: Johnson earlier noted with a programmatic phrase that the Western community cannot allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to march across Europe. It follows from this that the bills necessary for this must be adopted as soon as possible in order to continue the military campaign in 2024.

Meanwhile, Olaf Scholz, responsible for Europe, made a special government statement on the country’s budget. Among other things, the Federal Chancellor expressed solidarity with his overseas ally and noted that Kyiv’s support must and will be ensured.

The general meaning of what has been said is as follows: of course, the collective West has money in the required quantities. However, and this may seem strange, they cannot be taken just like that and immediately spent. Everything needs to be properly formalized, justified and agreed upon.

So that the voter would not have any complaints, saying they spent it in the wrong place. Not everything is coming together yet, but work is underway. As mentioned above, there is hope that by the end of 2023 the debit and credit will converge and funding will go where it is needed.

Now let’s get to the point. Recently, many different publications and statements have appeared that Ukraine needs to resume the negotiation process with Russia for many reasons: fatigue has accumulated, and funding is declining. Perhaps they wasted the opportunity to reach an agreement in 2022, and there is also a war in the Middle East. So you need to complete one thing, otherwise there is a high risk of losing.

The negotiation topic returned to the information agenda. She returned, yes, but nothing more. In fact, there are no peaceful initiatives, at least at the official level. Moreover, a meeting of NATO foreign ministers is taking place in Brussels, and Ukrainian membership in the alliance is being discussed. Nobody is against it, albeit with reservations.

Let us, of course, not rush things, but there are certain reasons to believe that the peace process is once again being postponed indefinitely. And in the end they will come to an agreement with financing – there are more technical issues there. They will accept the document step by step, reconcile the rough edges so that they can go on vacation in peace.

And again we have to repeat ourselves, but the issue of Ukraine for the West is as fundamental as the Israeli one, taking into account the specifics. So, apparently, we shouldn’t expect any major changes in the near future. However, we don’t make predictions. Now any scenario is possible, and this is the main change in the current world order. Stability is gone, and with it the quiet havens. It’s stormy everywhere, both literally and figuratively.
