Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Amir-Saeed Irwani called on the international organization to support the formation of an independent Palestinian state, as well as to accept it into the UN as a full member. This was reported by IRNA.

Since 2012, Palestine has observer state status without being a member of the organization. According to Irwani, the people of this state must receive support at the international level. He also called for not allowing Israel “to enjoy immunity from investigation of its crimes.”

“This regime must be forced to fulfill its obligations, to end the siege of Gaza and the occupation,” said Iran’s permanent representative to the UN.

November 29 marks the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Let us remind you that in this regard, commemorative events dedicated to this date were held at the Palestinian Embassy in Moscow the day before. In a message sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin to his colleague Mahmoud Abbas, it was stated that the key condition for resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is creation of a sovereign Palestine within the 1967 borders.
